Help From The Gathering Inn
Charity Feyer-Velasquez was awakened by the spray of a lawn sprinkler while sleeping under a bush in a stranger’s yard—and that was the day everything changed. After reaching out for help from The Gathering Inn, a nonprofit that serves the area homeless population with a “hand up, not a hand out,” Charity is now thriving in a new life and a new career.
Endless Possibilities At Acceptance Insurance
After a lifetime of part-time, minimum-wage jobs, Charity joined Acceptance Insurance as a Retail Sales Agent, and now enjoys a 401k, vacation days, and other benefits that, she says, “I never even thought would be possible for me.” As an Acceptance team member, Charity embodies the company’s service vision “Take Care of Each Other,” by giving back to her community, and volunteering at The Gathering Inn, offering hope to those who are now in the same position she once was.
Looking Toward The Future
Today, Charity is grateful for the opportunities offered to her as an Acceptance team member. “Through working here” she says, “I’ve seen the possibilities for my life.” She is also pleased to count many residents of The Gathering Inn as valued customers at Acceptance, where we firmly believe Everyone is Someone. We’re so proud of how far Charity has come, and we can’t wait to see how far she’ll go.
